Deborah Burch supports The Foundry Recovery Program based in Bessemer, Alabama. 21 million Americans suffer from some type of substance abuse. This is a national epidemic and affects so many families in America and it hits home. Chances are, you may know someone who is either on or has been on drugs or a family that has been affected by drug addiction. This cause is very near to Deborah’s heart because she has seen the effects of a loved one being addicted. As she sat by and watched her loved one search for help, endlessly trying to get help but the cost of treatment is astronomical. It was a program similar to this one that allowed her family member to get the help they needed at a fraction of the cost of high dollar treatment centers.

I’ve been with Leigh Daniel Law since 2010, and during that time, I’ve pretty much done it all—paralegal work, answering phones, preparing QDROs, taking care of clients, and making sure the office runs smoothly day to day. I’m also a notary public. My favorite part of the job is being able to support our clients and help them feel cared for during what can be a really tough time in their lives.

Outside of work, I’m a mom to three amazing grown kids and a soon-to-be grandma (which I’m very excited about!). In my spare time, I teach a dance fitness class for teens and adults with special needs—a role that brings me so much joy. I’m passionate about being involved in the special needs community and creating a space where everyone can feel confident, included, and celebrated.

When I have some downtime, I love catching up on reality TV and spending time with family and friends.

Haley is from Gurley, Alabama. She received a volleyball scholarship and played at Snead State for two years then transferred to Auburn University. She received her Bachelor’s degree and graduated from Auburn in May of 2020. Upon graduation, she joined our team as a legal assistant. She loves bringing her dog, Champ, to work with her.

Amber, a South Mississippi Gulf Coast native, moved to Huntsville in 2016. She is known for her passion, drive, creativity, and leadership. Her focus is providing the best service and solutions for client needs at the highest level possible. She specializes in trial preparation, discovery, medical records, legal case summaries, motions, and overall case-client management. Her legal career began in 2000, after joining a large multi-location civil litigation defense firm in South Mississippi. She began as a file clerk/office manager type role and quickly advanced to Paralegal, followed by Sr. Paralegal, in just a couple of years. She fell in love with the legal world, and carries that in her DNA from both sides of her family.

Amber’s work experience includes: General Litigation & Insurance Defense, Appellate, Construction Law & Litigation, Premise Liability, Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith, Medical Malpractice, Products Liability, Commercial & Business Litigation, Professional Liability, Civil Rights & Governmental Liability, Labor & Employment, Automobile Accidents, Personal Injury and Family Law. She plans to have a long career in Family Law! Prior to her legal background, she was Camp Director of the YMCA in her hometown, where she began in high school as a Counselor, then Head Counselor and worked her way up; she was also the YMCA art director and certified aerobic instructor.

Linda Summerville is our lead paralegal and has been working in the field of domestic relations for 40 years, spending about 20 of those years with our firm. She is detail oriented and extremely compassionate. Her dedication to clients shines through on a daily basis, and she has been known to work all night in order to meet deadlines.

Payton grew up in New Market, AL after her Father retired from the Army in 2012. Payton received a scholarship and spent a year at The University of Alabama until she transferred to Faulkner University in Huntsville to fast track her Criminal Justice degree and begin working. She is currently working on our team as a legal assistant and plans to go to law school in the fall. In her free time she is a volunteer horse trainer at Victory Alliance Ranch in Huntsville, which helps wounded veterans and special ed children learn the love of a horse where she also boards her own horses Cash and Kam. She loves to bring her dogs, Luke and Lila, to work with her!
